FAQ's
How much does paving cost to lay?
To lay the standard paver 400x400x40mm on a standard base of sand and cement or road base and sand costs between $50-$100 a m2 with no excavation or pavers them selves included. This is because paths, hard access areas or curved/patterned paving has a lot more work in it, where a big flat area is easy.
So if you ask for a m2 rate most of the time the rate you are given will not be correct as all sites are different.
We prefer to quote on site or from photos and as much detail as possible.
Do I need an engineered drawing for retaining walls over 1m?
Yes. There are ways to manage the height of the land behind the wall like battering or terracing but a site quote is recommended.
Can I help with some of the work to reduce costs?
Yes in most cases you can move stuff out of the way or do some excavation before we arrive but due to health and safety issues once we take over the site only staff with the correct safety gear and white cards can work with us.
Can you manage the whole project including other contractors?
Yes we can manage the whole project including other contractors.
Are you able to recommend and supply pavers or tiles?
Yes happy to get prices for you once you have chosen a product. If you're having trouble deciding we can give you some tips and pointers for the area you're proposing to get done.
Is sealing of hard surfaces recommended?
Sealing of sandstone tiles or pavers is a must but most other products dont need sealing but if you want to have a nice clean surface longer sealing is recommended. These days sealers are cheaper and easier to use. Make sure you read the manufacturers directions or get someone to do it.
